About Gantz Ranch
Grandfather George Gantz, at the age of four, came with his family from Germany to America and settled on a farm in
Kansas. In 1901, at the age of 21, with the promise of free land in Oklahoma, he came to the Antelope Hills area and filed
claim on the free land. He lived in a dugout for several years. He told me stories of the Indians camping on the creeks in the
fall to hunt wildlife and gather persimmons, berries, and nuts. Grandfather made excellent wine from the wild grapes that grew
along the creeks. My cousin and I liked to sneak into the wine cellar to sip from the keg that grandfather had brought over
from Germany. He would always give us guidance on how to live our lives. His favorite advice was "You have to do without.
You have to save the land for your children."

Ye Ole Fishin' Hole was built in the early 1970's by my father, Robert Bachmann. It is
spring fed, surrounded by a wooded area, and stocked with large mouth bass. Fishing is
catch and release unless other arrangements are made. If you catch a 9 lb or above fish,
you can release or keep it for mount. You can either take a picture and measurement to be
sent to Pro Bass for mount or freeze and take with you. Mount fees are paid by you to the
taxidermist.

Gantz Ranch is a fully enclosed ranch with a lodge, elk, deer, turkey, a bass pond, walking trails, and a variety of habitat that includes
grassland and riparian thickets of hackberry, elm, willow, and cottonwood. Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, Flickers, Red-headed
Woodpeckers, and a wonderful vulture roosting area behind the bass pond provide excellent birding and photographic opportunities.
The rolling hills and two heavily wooded creek areas make for beautiful scenery and a challenging hunt. There is an abundance of
wildlife to enjoy watching when you are not hunting. We have a clean camp, and a nice lodge which appeals to those hunters who wish
to bring their spouses along.

Our lodge is handicap accessible. You may want to bring your motorized vehicle if needed.
